Wet dog

I took the dog for a walk this morning because it's actually kinda nice here in Wisconsin today...Supposed to be close to 50 I heard on the way home from work. And now all I smell is wet dog because the snow has been melting and the sidewalks are all wet and puddley (oh yeah, I just made up a word....GO ME!).

What would you do?

If you haven't looked at my blogroll recently you should.....Because it's gotten a crap ton bigger. I've gotten pretty bad at visiting the blogs that I follow so I added them to my blog roll so that I will actually go and comment on them. You should check them out...You never know you might meet some new bloggy friends.

What would you do if you were me? In the last two weeks my brother's fiancee' has tried to kill me twice while driving her car and then last Saturday night she tailgated a car the last few miles on our way to work (we ride together because we work at the same place and basically have the same schedule). With my tax return I was just going to get new struts put in and still go on my girl vacation to Idaho but in light of all that's happened recently I'm wondering if I should get the brakes and rotors done too and start driving myself and put my girl vacation on hold until we go to the Minneapolis PBR event in September?

A mini pity party...

Last Thursday I posted a post called "I'm Gonna Drink" where I posted about all the things that have been going wrong in my life since the end of last November. Well I did as I said I was going to do and I had a few beers and had myself a mini pity party....I actually felt good too. The only downside to it was I started drinking on an empty stomach....NOT the smartest idea I've had in a while. To top that off I was making dinner slightly shall we say "fuzzy". All in all it felt good and even though I didn't do it exactly the smartest way I know of dinner still turned out great and I'm hoping that the washer will start working again shortly.

This is the story of a girl and a nickname. When I started out blogging I was "just" Jamie. I was totally content with being "just" Jamie too, but then I found my blogging pal Trainwreck (TW to her blogging peeps) over at Cowboys, Kids and Sunsets. Y'all should seriously check out her blog by the way....she's got a wicked sense of humor and on top of that she's a phenominal artist/photographer! Well getting back to my story....My pal TW gave me a nickname....BITRCountryGirl because my first blog name (before the name change and then all the other troubles I was having) was Bumps In The Road: A Country Girl Trapped In Yuppie "Hell". TW took the first letters of Bumps in the Road and got the BITR and then added the CountryGirl to the end of it and now I'm BITRCountryGirl. But then there was a bit of confusion pertaining to my nickname....people actually thought that I was bitter and I'm really not. So I temporarily dropped my nickname after I moved back here to Blogger but now she's back and ready to take on the blogging world! And in the words of Paul Harvey "now you know....the rest of the story."

NAME CHANGE!

You'll notice that the name of this blog has changed. The original name of my blog was Bumps In The Road: A Country Girl Trapped In Yuppie "Hell" when I started blogging....way back when and I've decided that I'm going to "rock it Old School" in bloggy land from now on. Tomorrow I have a post scheduled that explains my nickname and why I temporarily stopped using it but now I'm back and ready to take on the blogging world.

EDIT: I'd just like to say "Thank You" for all the words of encouragement that I recieved from all my bloggy pals out there. I really appreciate it. I hope that everyone has a great weekend. GO STEELERS! Now I'm off to knit and/or watch a movie I can't decide which at this point.

I couldn't catch a break if it jumped up and bit me in the ass right now. So far I really haven't had pretty much anything good happen to me since the day before Thanksgiving. Let's recap shall we:

1. The day BEFORE Thanksgiving we put our dog to sleep.

2. December 4th the AC compressor in my car completely seizes up which put me in the hole $1,200.

3. As a result of #2 I'm in debt to the Bank of Dad for $1,200.

4. I have a whole list of repairs that I need to have done to my car.

5. I need to have new struts put on my car because the spring in the strut on the front drivers side is broken and has actually punctured 2 tires to this point.

6. As a result of number 5, I have been no where or done anything really "fun" in MANY WEEKS.

7. Our washer has pretty much decided that it's just not going to work anymore and because I happened to be the person using it when it decided this I am the one who is going to catch hell for it.

So as a result of the above list, I have decided that I am going to drink and possibly cry some and maybe tomorrow things will look a little better. That's my hope anyway.

My New Addiction and De-Cluttering....

So I got a $25 iTunes giftcard for Christmas and I spent the whole thing and then some on audiobooks. As I'm writing this post I'm downloading Killer Angels by Michael Shaara (soon to add Gods and Generals to the list too), I've also downloaded Nights in Rodanthe by Nicholas Sparks, P.S., I love you by Cecilia Ahern, and Dirty by Megan Hart.

I'm in the process of trying to de-clutter my room (which I really need to get back to) and so far I'm sucking pretty miserabley at it. There is soooo much junk laying on my floor right now that I'm actually embarassed....I can not believe I have soooo much stuff. Most of which I really don't need, which will either be going into trash or into my bags to go to Goodwill or St. Vincents (which take up most of my closet and a corner of my room right now). I've got 3 laundry baskets of laundry I need to do and actually put away this time (getting it done isn't the problem, putting it away is the problem). I'm in desperate need of a paper shredder and we don't have one that actually works.

It's colder than HELL here in Wisconsin AGAIN! I think I heard that with the wind chill figured in for Wednesday night it was supposed to be between -35 and -45 degrees below 0. I heard that the high for Thursday is supposed to be -6 degrees but with the wind chill factor it's supposed to feel more like -20 to -35 degrees. I can hardly wait....Have I mentioned that I am NOT a big fan of winter?

UGH!

If anyone hasn't noticed I haven't posted since Monday morning. I apologize for that I've been trying to fight off a bitching migraine that I think I inadvertantly gave myself. I was out shoveling my drive on Friday morning and must of tweeked my neck just enough that I've been in serious pain since Friday night. So I've been dealing with that for now and working on my knitting projects....Oh and I am in the process of downloading my first audiobook off of Itunes sounds really interesting.

I know that I've been tagged and have things waiting for me at other blogs....I promise I'll come get them and share with all my peeps....I just got to nip this horrible pain in my head in the bud first.

An oldie but a goodie.....

I was looking through my really old Blogger blog (well 3 blogs ago anyway) and I found the following post....It made me giggle so I thought that I would share it with you too.

Well last night at work was pretty uneventful. Boring to be blunt. Well that was until I was told to rearrange the cooler. It was pretty much rearranged and sorted by pull group (we pull things from our stockrooms to replenish what our store's guests purchased during the day). The only real problem that there was in the cooler was there wasn't much moving around room due to three pallets of milk in the cooler. Two pallets were just your basic different types of milk, the third was a pallet of Silk soy milk. After I was done tweaking the cooler I was to put the cases of Silk up on top of the shelving that we have in our cooler....Now each case had 6 1/2 gallon containers in it and after about the 10th one they started getting really heavy! And 90 minutes it took me to get the whole pallet put up, because I had to start over. Apparently, I was not putting the cases up the way I was supposed to or something of that nature. So now as a result of this project I am not a big fan of Silk. But in the word's of Stewie from Family Guy ..... "Victory is MINE!"

Is this bad?

Is it bad that I've been up for a little over 2 hours now and all I've done is blog?

Italy or Greece, hands down.

3. How is the situation with your friend at work? I hope its getting better? from Bekah

The situation with my friend at work basically boiled down to this....I don't tell them anything really personal anymore and pretty much everything is on a need to know basis....most of which they don't need to know. I guess going with that frame of mind things are getting better, but they still aren't great.

4. What do you want for christmas? from Bekah

To be able to eat solid food again, to have all my debt paid off (serious wishful thinking there), a couple of games for my Wii (I'm partical to the Cabela's hunting games...I'm not that good of a gamer yet and I'm pretty ok at those games), one of these (again, serious wishful thinking):

Not at this time. I did do a semester course a couple of years ago but the instructor and I didn't see eye to eye on some things and it ended up with me not passing. I would like to go back in the future but that costs money which I don't have a lot of right now...Danged economy!

6. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? from keeperoftheskieswife

In 5 years I'm hoping to finally be out on my own (dang car will be paid off by then), doing my own thing in my own place. That's my biggest goal right now is to get out on my own.

Nope, wish I was but I'm not.

I've seen this done on a few of the blogs that I frequent where they have a post dedicated to answering people's questions about themselves, their family, etc. I've always wanted to try this so now I'm taking the leap and putting it out there. What do you want to know about me?

Here are the rules (yes, there are rules):

I've survived!

I survived pretty much unscathed the extraction of my wisdom teeth. Looking a little chipmunky right now and I talk real funny but their out and I'm actually feeling pretty good. The IV needle wasn't even that bad either....I was really worried about that part....more so than the rest of it.
